SCOPE OF WORK Contractor is to take necessary precautions to prevent public access to the work area during the duration of the project. Contractor is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all materials associated with the project and shall restore disturbed areas back to existing conditions. Laydown area for equipment and materials shall be coordinated and approved in advance with SJC project manager to limit disruption to Treaty Park. All work shall be performed between August 14 - 28, 2023, with all work to be completed on or before August 28, 2023. The contractor must be insured and possess a current CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) license to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. The contractor must have prior experience in playground restoration projects and must provide references for similar projects successfully completed in the last five years. Rust Removal: 1. Identify areas affected by rust on all metal surfaces of play system upright posts and accent metals. 2. Employ appropriate techniques to remove /neutralize rust, ensuring a smooth and safe 3. surface. 4. Dispose of all waste materials responsibly and in accordance with local regulations. Priming and Painting: 1. Thoroughly clean all surfaces to be painted, removing dirt, debris, rust and loose paint. 2. Apply a high-quality primer to protect the metal structures from future corrosion. 3. Use durable, non-toxic, and weather-resistant paint in vibrant colors that adhere to safety standards. Ensure that the chosen colors comply with any relevant regulations for public playgrounds. Shade Soft Wash: 1. Clean and wash all shade structures, canopies, and sails to remove dirt, mold, and mildew. 2. Use gentle yet effective cleaning agents to avoid damage to the shade materials. 3. Rinse the structures thoroughly, leaving them looking refreshed and vibrant. Coating of Faded Plastics: 1. Inspect all plastic components, including slides, play panels, and other accessories, for signs of fading or damage. 2. Apply a UV-resistant primer, coating and protective layer to plastics to color and protect the plastics from further sun damage as much as possible. 3. Ensure the coating is child-safe and environmentally friendly.
