A. The Work shall be as described in the Contract Documents. The work generally requires the following 1. Demolish existing fire detection and alarm system after the new one is installed, tested and accepted 2. Replace the existing fire alarm system with a new fire detection and alarm system in accordance with the New York City building code, New York City fire department regulations, SCA specifications and design standards. The new system will be ADA compliant. 3. The new fire alarm system will be microprocessor based, addressable, multiplex type. Each automatic and manual alarm initiation device will be individually annunciated at the fire alarm control panel. The evacuation alarm will be master coded using audible and visual annunciators. All filing and legal approvals will be obtained from the fire department before and after the equipment installation. 4. Provide and install new digital alarm communicator transmitter (DACT) system and central station monitoring. 5. Provide and install carbon monoxide detectors ul listed under UL 2075 standard with built in sounder as shown on the dwg. 6. Demolish existing public address and clock system and replace with new complete system; existing system shall remain operational until new system is functional and approved by the SCA. 7. Provide power connections to new motor starters for HVAC equipment as indicated on plans; motor starters shall be tied into the new fire alarm system.
