Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Bettendorf, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The existing police station is located within the Bettendorf City Hall at 1609 State Street. The police force has outgrown their space, which occupies 11,000 square feet within the existing building. This area excludes outdoor parking and ancillary facilities at the south of the city hall property. The proposed new Police Station is anticipated to exceed 60,000 square feet in total size and will include indoor parking for all vehicles as well as a basement area. This project involves the construction of a new, stand-alone police station facility. The new facility will include a community room, garage, office and functional space and a partial basement. Site improvements include parking, hardscape and landscape to facilitate secure and non-secure site areas, as well as tie-in to the existing public works and Crow Creek Park parking lot and drive areas. This project involves renovation and remodeling of the existing city hall and police department portions of the existing city facility. Renovations include new offices, conference rooms, rest rooms and associated support spaces. Site improvements may also include modification to existing parking and other hardscape portions of the existing site. The City of Bettendorf Intends to enter Into a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract for the potential construction of a new Police Station and renovations to City Hall. The City will publish a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Construction Manager at-Risk (CMaR) services for the project on Monday, September 16th, 2024. The CMaR will be chosen using a two- step solicitation process and chosen on "best value." The CMaR Statement of Qualification (SOQ) submittals will be ranked based on the following criteria: Firm Profile & Background Applicable Project Experience, Qualifications, References Project Team and Company Structure Proposed Delivery Method & Management Processes Safety Record & Internal Safety Program Selection Complete / Tentative Contract Award by City 11/19/2024 Question Deadline 09/26/2024 at 2:00 PM CT Deadline for Submission of Questions (to Bray).
