Phase 1 of the Hillcrest Reconstruction Project includes the provision of services to residents on Roundel Road, Summit Road, and Sunset Drive North, as indicated in green in the figure below. Work includes water, sewer, storm, and road construction within the right of way. As part of the work, residents have the opportunity to opt-in to have their water and sewer services replaced to their homes as part of the City's reconstruction contract. Residents who opt-in are then required to coordinate connection of new water services in their home. The City's reconstruction contract would bring new water service supply and recirculation pipe stubbed inside the building, including backfill and compaction to the main; sanitary services are connected outside the foundation and no interior work is required. The Scope of Work for this RFEOI for plumbing and electrical contractors includes installation of 22 domestic water recirculation systems, comprising of: a) All necessary permits, including plumbing and electrical. b) Supply and installation of HDPE to copper transition fittings (25 and 20 mm), Grundfos (UPS 15 -35 SFC) recirculation pump c/w check valve or approved other (brass or stainless steel), shutoff ball valves, and associated electrical disconnect switch and connection to electrical panel. (for single detached homes and duplexes - sizing of water lines and recirculation pumps for multifamily residents to be determined by a mechanical engineer) c) Cleaning, disinfection, flushing, and connection of recirculation panel to existing domestic plumbing system. d) Coordinating final inspections and transition from temporary water into the new recirculating water service. TIMELINE: This was a previously issued request for expressions of interest on behalf of Hillcrest residents to identify interested contractors who are available to provide services to complete plumbing and electrical services to install domestic water recirculation systems for Phase 1 of the Hillcrest Reconstruction Project. Outcome did not result in a contractor award, as it was only intended to guage industry interest and inform potential future procurement planning. Further update once the project is approved to bid for construction.
