Sealed bids for Osborn Aquatic Center Pump Room Roof Replacement Project The work consists of providing all services, labor, materials, equipment and permits necessary for the installations of one Thermoplastic Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Fleeceback 60mil Membrane Roofing system meeting manufacturers specification and materials approved by City Representative at the Osborn Aquatic Center Pump Room Roof located at 1940 NW Highland Drive, Corvallis, Oregon. The City of Corvallis encourages small, minority- and women-owned businesses to submit bids. Contractor shall provide all insurance, labor, equipment, materials, equipment and permits necessary for the installation of one Thermoplastic Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) 60 mil fleeceback Membrane roofing system at the Osborn Aquatic Center, 1940 NW Highland Drive, Corvallis, Oregon. 1.1. The following manufacturer's material products are intended to demonstrate quality level standard. All work shall conform to the Manufacturers Specifications for the appropriate applications for a 60 mil Thermoset Single-Ply Roofing System, hereinafter referred to in general as "Specifications". See Sample Specifications of a MechanicallyFastened High-Density Insulation Re-cover Board to Structural Deck, adhering 60 mil EPDM Thermoset Single-Ply Roofing System. 1.2. The Contractor shall ensure that the existing cap, curb and sidewall metal flashings are sound and allow for the additional roofing thickness that the addition of the EPDM roofing will create. If new flashings are necessary, Contractor shall include in the bid the removal of the existing flashings and replacement with the same material, gauge and color as the existing. 1.3. The Contractor shall replace all existing cap and curb metal flashings with new metal flashings of the same material, gauge and color as the existing. 1.4. The City expects Contractor to replace the rings at the base of the scupper drains, attach them with new bolts and replace the drain cages as necessary if they are damage. 1.5. Contractor shall be required to get all necessary permits from the Development Services Department or from appropriate agencies. 1.6. Contractor will provide an extensive, detailed safety plan for protection of public and staff entering the Osborn Aquatic Center staff and public entrances, vehicles and staff exiting and accessing building entrances and employees performing the roofing work. The plan will coincide with the project schedule for sidewalk closures and building entrances. 1.7. Contractor shall post hazardous work areas with appropriate barricades, tape and/or signage as necessary to protect adjacent buildings, landscaping, vehicles, building occupants, passersby or other work crews from possible damage or injury. In the event of damages, restoration or repairs shall be made to a condition equal or better than the original condition at the Contractor's expense. 1.8. City and Contractor will identify staging area for materials and equipment. 1.9. Contractor shall coordinate the work with the Building and Grounds Project Coordinator. 1.10. Contractor shall not proceed with the work until a purchase order is issued for the project (for work $10,000.00 or more), or until notified by the City Representative (for work less than $10,000). 1.11. Contractor and any of Contractor's employees performing work under this contract shall maintain appropriate Oregon Construction Contractor Board license and applicable certification or licensing by the Oregon Building Codes Division for the duration of the contract. 1.12. Contractor and Contractor's employees shall be appropriately licensed and/or certified by the State of Oregon for class of work performed. 1.13. All services shall comply with applicable Oregon Statute, Oregon Uniform Building Code, and any other local, state, federal and industry regulations or standards applicable to the type of work being performed under the contract. Service levels and frequencies shall meet or exceed State of Oregon requirements for work. Where requirements are in conflict, the more stringent shall apply. 1.14. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 1.14.1. Because of the critical nature of the facilities and related operations in providing service to the community, Contractor shall schedule work in a manner that minimizes impacts to the operation of the facilities. 1.14.2. All work shall be performed in accordance with manufacturers' specifications or recommendations and industry standards. Any part of the work that is not mentioned in this Scope of Work but which is necessary or normally required as a part of such work, or is necessary or required to perform the work satisfactorily, shall be performed by the Contractor as incidental work without extra cost to the City. 1.14.3. Contractor shall comply with all applicable standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), or other applicable federal, state and local requirements. Contractor shall post hazardous work areas with appropriate barricades, tape and/or signage as necessary to protect building occupants, passerby or other work crews from possible injury. 1.14.4. In the event Contractor damages City property or equipment in the course of work, the property or equipment shall be repaired or replaced at Contractor's expense. City property or equipment which fails during work through no fault of the Contractor shall be reported to the City. If qualified, Contractor shall estimate the cost for repair or replacement by the Contractor. If the City accepts the estimate, the labor and materials expenses for repair or replacement will be charged back to the City. 1.14.5. Contractor shall maintain good housekeeping practices during the project. All work areas shall be cleaned of all debris generated from the work herein on a daily basis. All debris removed shall be disposed of in accordance with applicable federal, state and local requirements. All applicable federal, state and local environmental protection, health and safety requirements shall be observed. Contractor shall post hazardous work areas with appropriate barricades, tape and/or signage as necessary to protect building occupants, passersby or other work crews from possible injury. 1.14.6. Contractor's employees shall be easily identifiable while providing service through the contract. Contractor's employees shall have photo identification which shall be clearly visible and includes the company name and the name of the employee. 1.14.7. Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to storage, handling, management, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
