Renovation of a mixed-use development in Rutland, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library; and municipal facility.

The scope of work includes work for roof repair at Rutland Public Library and Public Safety Building as described in the provided Specifications and Drawing volumes for Rutland Public Library and Public Safety Building Roof Repairs. The required contract completion period is 180 consecutive days. Bid security for all general bidders and sub-bidders in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check, payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid, in accordance with the conditions in Section 00 21 13 INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00 72 00 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids. Repairs and improvements shown on the Library Roof Repairs Drawing Set. This includes the removal of the existing siding, trim and railing system down to the wall sheathing at all three equipment areas and the two roof top shafts. Install new continuous metal flashing along the roof plane and half-wall intersection, typical four sides, with new ice & water shield over the flashing and up the half-walls full height. Install new PVC trim, fiber cement siding and a new PVC balustrade railing system including new epoxy coated metal cap flashings. Asphalt Shingles within a 6'-0" perimeter of the intersection of the Low-Slope membrane roofing should be removed to install new Ice & Water Shield a minimum of 6'-0" from the intersection of the shingles and membrane roof. B. Repairs and improvements shown on Public Safety Building Roof Repairs Drawing Set, shown scope includes but is not limited to: a. Parapet stones removal/reinstall after re-flashing at South Wall. b. Parapet stones removal/reinstall after re-flashing at North Wall. c. Round window repairs. d. Cupola repair / re-flashing. e. East gutter re-welding, clean, downspouts / gutter splash guard, and drip edge to be added. f. Installation of drip edge at existing roof edge. g. Repair condenser penetrations /boot / reseal. h. A few roof vents to be re-flashed / repaired.
