This project will rejuvenate and modernize the basement level at the development known as Birchmount Eglinton, make it fully accessible, and make it respond to the tenant needs of that community. This interior redesign will also update the landscape immediately accessible from the basement space, overlooking an adjacent creek. The scope includes redesign the of common areas of the buildings to meet TCHC Accessibility Standards. In each building on this property, the work will include but not be limited to; redesign the entire basement level of the building to meet accessibility guidelines. Upgrade all HVAC, electrical, security and I.T. systems as required throughout the basement to meet the requirements of the new program. Upgrade canopies on the east side of the basement level as required to match the interior design. Redesign the exterior amenity space behind the basement level area to include a dog park, pergola or canopy with seating, kids' playground, planters and appropriate pathways to link all amenities. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Consultants for Design & Engineering Services (D&E) has been issued by the owner. Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) is seeking a Vendor for the provision of design services at 1021 Birchmount Road. TCHC will be awarding RFP 23159 to the highest scored Proposal. The scope of work in this RFP is sub-categorized as Accessibility D&E services. A Mandatory site meeting will be held August 18, 2023. The successful proponent will be expected to lead a complete design team including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers.
