Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Friday Harbor, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

San Juan County is seeking a contractor to replace a failing culvert located at 1504 Point Lawrence Road (approx. MP 1.44), in the vicinity of Buoy Bay on Orcas Island. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract Plans, Contract Provisions, and the Washington State Department of Transportation WSDOT Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction, 2023 edition (WSDOT Standard Specifications). All work necessary to replace the failing culvert with a new, 30-inch diameter corrugated HDPE pipe approximately 85 feet in length. San Juan County will furnish the pipe material and boulders for the outfall. The contractor will be responsible for transporting the pipe and boulders to the work site from the County's road shop facility at 1395 Mount Baker Rd. The work includes mobilization, traffic control, excavation, shoring or extra excavation, trucking and haul, pipe installation, gravel backfill and compaction, placement of outfall boulders, pavement restoration, and other work in accordance with the plans and specifications. At the Contractor's option, excavated waste material (including pipe material) may be disposed of at the Public Works yard, located at 3398 Orcas Rd. Estimated Total Cost: $38,000 Contract Time: All work shall be completed within 30 calendar days of contract award and execution. Qualified bidders must be contractors registered with MRSC Small Works Rosters for San Juan County in the appropriate service category/categories, by the time of bid submission. Pre-Bid Conference: The County is not holding a pre-bid conference for this project. The project sites are open to bidders for inspection. Rejection of Bids: San Juan County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in the best interest of the County. Bids will be subject to review and compliance with specifications. Permits: All required permits have been obtained for this project and any relevant provisions for the bidder have been included in the contact provisions and plans. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
