Construction of walking paths and fences, planting trees and other landscaping, installation of tables, trash receptacles, pet waste stations, irrigation system, and the performance of other appurtenant work under Project ID No. RDC0016557, Saybrook Medians Phase III, in the unincorporated community of East Los Angeles. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety bond payable to County of Los Angeles in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the bid to guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if it is so awarded. The successful bidder will be required to submit a faithful performance bond, payment bond, and liability and workers' compensation insurance with the contract. The County encourages the participation of Community Business Enterprises (CBE) in the project and has established a goal of twenty-five percent CBE participation which all bidders shall aspire to meet. Bidders shall document their good faith efforts to utilize CBEs in accordance with the Special Provisions. All persons performing the work shall be paid not less than the General Prevailing Wage Determination prepared by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to the State Labor Code. The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to a responsible contractor with the lowest responsive bid; however, the Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The work is estimated to cost between $1,700,000 and $2,500,000 and shall be completed in 100 working days.
