The Gartlets Grouse Stewardship Integrated Resource Timber Contract is located approx. 12 miles south of Mesick, MI in T22N, R12W, Sections 3, 28, 29, 32 and 33, and T21N, R12W, Sections 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9, Wexford County, MI. For a combination of timber and stewardship service work items. Timber to be cut includes an estimated volume of 2266 CCF of Red Pine Sawtimber, 2071 CCF of Red Pine Pulpwood, 749 CCF of Aspen Sawtimber, 1251 CCF of Mixed Hardwood Sawtimber, 1740 CCF of Mixed Hardwood Pulpwood, 76 CCF of Mixed Conifer Sawtimber, and 38 CCF of Mixed Conifer Pulpwood that is marked or otherwise designated for cutting. There are 0.8 miles of specified road reconstruction. Service work includes treatment of conifer stumps for heterobasidion root disease, road reconstruction, slash wall construction, and mechanical and manual site preparation.
