Expansion and renovation of Ahuntsic College building located at 9155, St. Hubert Street in Montréal (Quebec) H2M 1Y8 to meet 30% increase in student number in 2024. The scope of the project includes the construction of a 203,815 ft2 addition in rear of the main building that will allow to to bring together academic, collective, administrative and sports facilities and alteration of approximately 34,160 ft2 of the existing building areas. The extension is mainly composed of theoretical classes, computer labs, offices and sports facilities. In addition to being an economical choice, it also offers the advantage of optimizing the use of specialized premises and correcting existing problems by creating departmental areas promoting tutoring, mutual assistance, academic success and the development of a sense of belonging for the student in his program. The project also includes the redevelopment of existing space freed up by the transfer of educational activities to the extension. The redevelopment of the affected areas will promote the integration of spaces that complement the needs of the various teaching programs offered by the college. TIMELINE: Preliminary planning is underway. Working drawings are expected to begin in late 2025/early 2026. Tender and construction schedules will be finalized at a later date.
