Site work and paving for a road / highway in Carrboro, North Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of October 12, 2023, bids received were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. The Town is working with NCDOT to prepare a new cross section design for Jones Ferry Road to add buffered/protected bike lanes heading west bound from Davie Road to the Willow Creek shopping center; the new design would be installed as part of NCDOT's upcoming resurfacing project in summer 2024. In order to provide sufficient space for the new bike lanes the existing concrete median will need to be modified (narrowed). Work includes: Modifying five sections of center median along Jones Ferry Road from Davie Road to the entrance to the Willow Creek Shopping Center: three are planted medians with concrete curbing and two are painted median. Installation of pavement where the planted medians have been modified. Pavement markings. The bid proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Proposal Guarantee in the form of a Bond or a Certified Check payable to the Owner in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the bid. Town of Carrboros current goal for minority and women-owned participation for public construction is ten percent (10%) each. All work shall be completed within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed
