The City of Temple City is soliciting Proposals from qualified firms for professional engineering services to prepare PS&E Bid Package for upgrading existing traffic signal system at the intersection of Baldwin Ave and Live Oak. The traffic signal is shared by the Cities of Temple City and Arcadia. The proposed improvements include designing a new traffic signal system with left turn phasing in all directions (preferred with three-section Flashing Yellow Arrow Protected/Permissive left turn phasing), adding left turn pocket striping on the west approach and any other signing and striping modifications, ADA improvements at and any other improvements as necessary. A new Traffic Signal cabinet and controller will also be installed per Arcadia standards, and the traffic signal will be tied to City of Arcadia's Master Traffic Control System. As the intersection is shared by the Cities of Temple City and Arcadia, the plans will require review and processing by both Cities. A copy the existing Traffic Signal Plan obtained from Los Angeles County is attached. The selected consultant shall not just rely on the information shown on the attached plan, and shall be responsible to conduct necessary reviews, including optional potholing to locate new signal poles, and surveys to obtain necessary information and verify existing conditions as necessary to prepare necessary plans. The scope of work includes coordination with utility companies and agencies and preparing plans, specifications and estimates and final bid package approved by all applicable jurisdictional agencies ready for advertisement for bids.
