Shawnee County is soliciting sealed bids for 6,500 tons of de-icing salt per the following minimum specifications with orders taking place between Monday, September 11, 2023 and Friday, May 3, 2024. Material Specification: Provide material that satisfies the requirements of ASTM D-632, Type 1, Grade 1 Minimum Sodium Chloride (NaCl) Content 95% Color: Natural (White) Material must be free flowing, free of lumps, aggregation and foreign matter. Quantity: 6,500 tons total, with orders commencing no earlier than Monday, September 11, 2023 and ending no later than Friday, May 3, 2024. Individual orders will be placed at various times in varying amounts to be delivered to the following locations. Over the course of a winter season, it is estimated that no less than a total of 800 tons will be delivered to any single location. Deliveries must occur within two weeks of an individual order.
