Renovation of a water / sewer project in Nestor Falls, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Upgrades to its existing water treatment plant. The community is accessible year-round via Highway 71, approx. 35 km south of Sioux Narrows, Ontario. The general scope of work consists of the following: 1. upgrading the existing slow sand filter under drain system; 2. replacement of slow sand and GAC filter media; 3. inspecting and upgrading the SCADA/PLC system to enable remote monitoring; 4. replacing the raw water intake screen in Crow Lake; 5. replacing various instrumentation; 6. replacing chlorine feed system; 7. addition of a divider wall in the treated water pumping chamber, including access hatch and intercell piping; 8. servicing and repairing the diesel generator; 9. replacing all exterior doors of the water treatment plant and low lift station; 10. and replacing all existing interior and exterior lighting, including emergency lighting. 11. Interested General Contractors who have expertise in water treatment plant upgrades, specific Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform. TIMELINE: RFP closed September 2023; three (3) firms prequalified. The Stage II was tendered and awarded to Penn-Co Construction early December 2023; award amount is unreleased for publication. Construction began early 2024; target completion is late July 2024.
