Medical Examiner's Offi ce - Morgue/Medical Examiner Facility Replacement The project consists of the construction of a Morgue replacement facility and Medical Examiner Offi ces in French Camp. The project is a proposed single-story building of approximately 18,000 square feet. The design concept seeks to provide a controlled environment for security with suffi cient space for forensic equipment and adequate space for staff to complete tasks effi ciently. Public spaces will be well defi ned and situated to meet needs for access, information, privacy, and expression of grief. The design will encourage interaction among staff while assuring confi dentiality when required, emphasize the dignifi ed handling of the decedent’s remains and property while accommodating the needs of forensic investigation and chain of evidence, and provide an effi cient facility with the fl exibility to accommodate change and future expansion. This project is included in the San Joaquin County's FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 28, 2024, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
