Scope of Work - This Project will upgrade the existing lime feed and slaking system(s) at the Alexander Orr Jr. Water Treatment Plant, located at 6825 SW 87th Avenue, Miami, FL 33173 in Miami-Dade County. Lime feed and slaking systems are used to aid in neutralizing acid, reducing of organics and pathogens, softening hard water, and reducing corrosion in transmission pipes. Location - 6825 SW 87th Avenue, Miami, FL 33173 Estimated Range of the Base Bid - $14,456,193.07 to $17,491,194.93 not including contingency and dedicated allowances. Project Duration: 927 Calendar Days to Final Completion, plus a 93 Calendar Day Contingency Period. Pursuant to County Code Section 2-11.1 (t), this solicitation is under a "Cone of Silence" until lifted. The contractor will need to comply with Section 2-11.17 of the MDC Code, inclusive of all amendments, including the apprentice and on-the-job training requirements. Nothing in this solicitation shall in any way be utilized to request documentation relating to or authorizing consideration of a proposer's social, political, or ideological interests when determining if the proposer is a responsible vendor or give a preference to a proposer based on the proposer's social, political, or ideological interests. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by a bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The successful contractor must execute a one hundred (100%) Surety Performance and Payment Bonds. NO BIDDER MAY WITHDRAW HIS BID WITHIN 120 DAYS FROM BID OPENING DATE. The Board of County Commissioners, Miami-Dade County, Florida, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid or to re-advertise for bids. Bids from any person, firm or Corporation in default on other contracts or agreements with the County may be rejected. Failure by the Bidder to satisfy claims on previous contracts with the County may be cause for rejection of his bid.
