The Board of County Commissioners of Cowlitz County will receive sealed bids until September 5, 2023 prior to 11:00 A.M. for Cowlitz County Asphalt Replacement Project #2023-0043-01. The project consists of removal and replacement of approximately 126,000 ft2 of existing parking lot asphalt at the Hall of Justice and Health and Human Services. More information can be found in the plans and bid documents attached below. No pre-bid job walk will be held as all locations are open to the public for inspection. Interpretation questions referred to A/E: Questions regarding interpretation of the requirements of the Contract Documents shall be referred to the A/E Cowlitz County is requesting bids from qualified contractors for removal and replacement of existing parking lot asphalt at the Cowlitz County Hall of Justic and Health and Human Services buildings. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies, subcontracting, fees, permitting, and supervision necessary for project completion as specified herein and shown in drawings. One agreement will be awarded as a result of this solicitation. 1. Project locations include: a. Cowlitz County Hall of Justice o 312 1 st Avenue, Kelso, WA o South Parking Lot - approximately 80,000 ft2 with (4) catch basins and (3) wheel stops. o East Parking Lot - approximately 31,000 ft2 with (2) catch basins and (38) wheel stops. b. Cowlitz County Health and Human Services o 1952 9 th Avenue, Longview, WA. o Front Parking Lot - approximately 4,000 ft2 with (1) catch basin and (7) wheel stops. Riser to be installed in catch basin to accommodate proper slope. o Back Parking Lot - approximately 11,000 ft2 with (1) manhole, (2) catch basins, and (13) wheel stops. Risers to be installed in catch basins to accommodate proper slope. 2. Project includes: a. Grind existing asphalt (0"-3", varies by location). b. Overlay existing asphalt (0"-3", varies by location). c. Compacted Hot Mix Cl. 3/8"PG58H-22, sloped to catch basins for proper drainage. d. Sanding/sealing joints upon completion. e. Removing/replacing existing curb stops with new. f. Striping to match current layout. g. Permitting, additional fees, and/or traffic control, if necessary
