The Contract provides improvement of sidewalks at multiple locations within the City of Bremerton by removing trip hazards on existing sidewalk. The Work shall be performed by horizontal sawing in accordance with the attached Contract Plans and Special Provisions. The Contractor is encouraged to review the site of work to gain an understanding of the sidewalk repairs to be made. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: The engineers estimate is $90,000 annually. UNIT PRICED CONTRACT: The work will be completed as a 3-year unit priced contract as allowed by RCW 35.22.620. Contractors should read all language in the Contract Documents including the Special Provisions carefully. Work will be authorized annually using a Work Order form. Estimated annual quantities for work are included in the Bid Schedule. Refer to notes on the Proposal Form for information on bid evaluation procedures and annual adjustment of the unit prices. CONTRACT TIMES: The Work must be completed within the number of working days established under each assigned Work Order. It is anticipated that the Contractor shall be allowed 60 Working Days to complete each annual Work Order from the effective date of Notice to Proceed. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: The engineer's estimate is $90,000 annually BID SECURITY: Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Bremerton, in the amount of 5 percent of the Total Bid Price shown in the Bid Schedule. The failure to furnish a bid deposit of a minimum of 5 percent shall make the bid nonresponsive and shall cause the bid to be rejected by the Contracting Agency. BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 75 calendar days from the date of bid opening. WAGE RATES: The attention of Bidders is directed to the requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. Prevailing wages for each Work Order must be the prevailing wage rates in effect at the beginning date for each Contract Year. See Special Provision 1-01.3 Definitions for a description of beginning and ending dates for Contract Years 1 through 3. CONDITION ASSESSMENT REPORT AND PHOTOGRAPHS: Refer to appendices for the general scope and locations of work to be performed for 2023. Subsequent contracts are anticipated to be similar in scope and locations of work will be within the City of Bremerton. CITY'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City of Bremerton reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge.
