The Mid-East Commission on behalf of Murfreesboro, North Carolina is soliciting bids from construction companies with demonstrated qualifications and experience to construct a rip-rap revetment for erosion control on a 90 linear foot section of shoreline. The project site is the Murfree's Landing Park site located on Hart St. in Murfreesboro adjacent to the Meherrin River. The attached site plans show the desired location of the rip-rap revetment. (Please note that other improvements shown on the site plans are not being bid with this RFP.) Construct rip-rap revetment 1. Specifications: Rip-rap revetment on 90 linear foot section of shoreline for erosion control purposes. (See attached site plan for specific location.) Geotextile fabric liner required. Class 1 or Class 2 rip-rap stone required. Temporary silt fence required during construction. Seeding and mulching of area required post-construction. 2. Contractor responsible for obtaining building permit from Hertford County. 3. Contractor provides all materials The project site is open to the public. Contractors are welcome to visit the site in person as needed to provide an accurate bid. The town has already secured all state/federal permits for the project. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining a building permit from Hertford County. This project was funded through the NC Division of Coastal Management's Public Beach and Coastal Waterfront Access Grant. A copy of the grant application is available upon request
