TYPE OF WORK: This work will include waterline improvements at MM 19. PRE-QUALIFICATION. Bids will only be accepted by Contractors that are pre-qualified by the Kansas Department of Transportation. All blank spaces for bid prices must be filled in, according to the directions on Bid Express, and the bid form must be fully completed and executed when submitted. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of bid and made payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority as guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and give a performance bond as required if awarded the contract. The award of each contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition of 2015, and will be based upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate quantities. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority. Construction traffic shall not be permitted to turn through the median barrier.
