Renovation of an educational facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project consists of installing an exhaust fan system in order to reduce humidity problem in the basement/garage space. Previously the space was used to refill city trucks with a saline solution for treating roads and will now be used as paper storage. The system will utilize the blocked off window and what is remaining of the nonfunctioning exhaust system located in the basement area that has been blocked off by CMU block. The system will also need a sufficient source of power routed from main floor as there is none in the space. There is currently no functional exhaust service in the area so contractor will be responsible for exhaust fans, associated ductwork, electric, inlet/relief louvers, burglar bars, exhaust system controls as well as safety controls. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials and supplies required to create a properly functioning system. This project is located at the 500 N. Hilton St. building. Al Minority Business Enterprise are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. This is for Small Business Reserve vendors only. Small Business Reserve Designation - Yes The deadline for questions has been established as _08/28/23 at 2pm , to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials and supplies required to create a properly functioning system A. Contractor should ensure any and all equipment installed and any and all work performed shall be in accordance with all applicable standards and regulations as well as the standards established by: 1. Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) B. It is the Contractor's responsibility to coordinate the placement of the equipment to be installed with DGS. The Contractor will ensure that the specified equipment can be installed in the available space to affect a safe, legal, code compliant, and properly functioning system. C. All equipment removed and material originating from the job that the Agency elects not to keep shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the facility and disposed of legally. All rigging, hoisting, lifting and moving equipment necessary to perform the work is to be provided by the Contractor. All storage expenses for inadvertent manifestations shall be the obligation of the contractor. D. The work to be accomplished under this contract is located at 500 N. Hilton Street building and consists of providing all labor, material, equipment and services necessary for what's listed below as well as a complete and functioning product. o Contractor is responsible for equipment and labor required for masonry work with CMU block sufficient for fitting exhaust system. o Contractor must make sure exhaust fan for this project is sufficient for CFM required in garage space that is 142,000ft3. (10,000 CFM based on ACH of 4) o Contractor is responsible for all required controls including but not limited to fan control switch, fan speed control, damper controls, necessary safety controls. o Contractor is responsible for any repair and replacement of existing duct work necessary for a properly functioning system. o Contractor is responsible for supplying and installing burglar bar assembly and intake/relief louvers with bird screen and damper. o Power will need to be run through slab from main floor as there is no sufficient power source in garage. o Contractor should provide and install 100-amp breaker at main panel and 100 amp sub panel (sub panel should be sized for possible addition of walls and HVAC in area) o Contractor is responsible for all material and labor needed. This may include but is not limited to disconnects, breakers, conduit, and all wiring required for fully functional product. E. Any and all materials, design, labor, equipment, tools, or other goods and services not mentioned in this document but necessary to affect a complete, functional, safe, code compliant, turn-key system shall be furnished by the contractor at no additional cost to the state or its agencies. F. The contractor shall provide the facility with operation manuals, documentation, and warranty information for all equipment installed in paper and digital format. G. At the conclusion of the work, the contractor shall attend a walkthrough with the Using Agency Representative and Project Manager. If there are any outstanding issues with the work, a punch list will be prepared, and the punch list items shall be completed within (30) days per DGS General Conditions. H. Contractor is responsible for all permits and fees associated with the project.
