Saving Project...

Renovation of a municipal facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The Lake Park Town Hall is a nationally recognized historic building that is open daily for Town Business. In May of2015, an independent consultant concluded that "the roofis in decline (and) is likely to fail if a significant wind event were to occur." Preserving the Town Hall ensures it remains open for public use. While the building currently remains structurally sound for the most part, it is not watertight. Even brief rain events result in water permeating the walls and doors, leading to wet floors. The objective of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to secure a qualified and experienced painting contractor to prepare and repaint the Town Hall building exterior. Through this ITB, the Town will competitively solicit bid proposals for the painting of the Town Hall building consistent with the Town's procurement policy. PROJECT SCOPE: This is a building painting project. The project scope of work includes pressure cleaning and front-end prep work before painting operations as required for a proper and longer-lasting building painting work effort. The prep work will be followed by the complete building re-paint. (See Exhibit B - Scope of Work for a complete description of the proposed scope of work.) The building painting will address all surfaces of the exterior fa9ade including the metal stairs and handrails at the two emergency egress leading to the 2-floor balconies, and other handrails. Bidders with technical questions concerning the Bidding Documents should contact the Town Clerk, by calling 561-881-3311 or emailing to townclerk@lakeparkflorida.gov. Questions, and all responses will be provided to all bid holders. The sureties for the Bid Bond and Public Construction Bond must be an entity included in the most recent United States Department of Treasury list of acceptable sureties and be authorized to issue surety bonds in Florida. Bid Security shall be in a single acceptable instrument. The Successful Bidder, who is awarded the contract, will be required to furnish an original bid bond, as well as the Public Construction Performance and Payment Bonds in the full contract amount in accordance with Florida Statutes 255.05, as amended, and to submit a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating conformance with the Contract Documents. Failing to do so may result in the Owner retaining the Bid Security as agreed upon liquidated damages. Bids shall be prepared, addressed, and submitted in compliance with detailed instructions as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders The Town of Lake Park reserves the right to reject any or all Bids in whole or in part, with or without cause, to waive irregularities, variances, deviations, technical errors, and informalities to the extent permitted by law, or to accept the Bid which in its judgment best serves the public interest. Question Deadline 09/15/2023 at 4:00 PM ET All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to OWNER in writing.
