The existing 8 Terracotta sanitary sewer line has become compressed due to compaction. Because of the compression the pipe is now oval shaped and beginning to leak at the joints. Currently there are three manholes on Bristol Lane and the compressed Terracotta piping is running between each manhole. The manhole numbers are M-12, M-11,and M-10, the lineal footage of Terracotta piping between Manchester Road (which is manhole number M-13) and M-12 is 191, the lineal footage distance between M-12 and M-11 is 154, and the lineal footage distance between M-11 and M-10 is 284. The total lineal footage of Terracotta piping on Bristol Lane is 629. The existing Terracotta piping is approximately ten and a half feet deep, and will require a trench box to replace the Terracotta piping, per OSHA regulations. All measurements are approximate and contractor is to verify. The replacement of Terracotta piping shall begin between the manholes M-13 and M-12, upon completion of pipe replacement between these two manholes the contractor shall begin the piping replacement between M-12 and M-11, and upon completion of pipe replacement between these two manholes the contractor shall move to the last section of piping between M-11 and M-10.
