County is seeking to stabilize the structure, prevent future deterioration, and renovation of the remaining entryway structure located at 8500 Old Highway 421, Lillington, NC 27546 based on the Structural Engineering report prepared by Dewberry Engineers (Appendix A). The old school was heavily damaged by a fire in May of 2019. The school was demolished following a fire except for a masonry entryway, steps, and adjacent walls. The County plans to incorporate the remaining structure into a future park.
