Anticipated Scope: Development of a site-specific worker safety plan. As the residence was constructed in 1944, the presence of asbestos and lead paints should be assumed; mold and the presence of rodents are also anticipated to be a concern; Hazardous materials assessment to identify any items/materials that should be removed with additional care prior to mechanical (bulk) demolition; Hazardous materials abatement (the Province recognizes there is a degree of uncertainty, until the assessment is conducted); Contacting BC One-Call and arranging subsurface line locating immediately prior to the start of demolition activities; Disconnection and decommissioning of any utilities, including the potable water cistern and any associated water lines; Preparations to mitigate potential contamination of the soil surface by glass shards and other small debris prior to demolition; Salvage or disposal of structure contents (i.e., the Province may identify a single trailer load of salvageable items to be delivered to the Ministry of Forest warehouse in Dawson Creek); Mechanical demolition of the bungalow and workshop, including removal of concrete foundation(s) if present; General clean-up of any anthropogenic debris associated with the property; Transport to and disposal of all waste at an appropriate facility (e.g., the Bessborough Landfill ~32km away); and, Basic landscaping of disturbed areas (grading and seeding as needed) Contract duration is until October 31, 2023 Dispose of personal documents in a secure manner
