SOURCES SOUGHT: The VA Medical Center Jamaica Plain in Boston, MA has a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price contract to provide professional Architect/Engineer (A/E) Services necessary to develop a complete construction package with investigations, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, project phasing construction schedules, site visits, and construction period services to replace all decaying exterior Building #1 envelopes. The intent of this project includes but is not limited to: The removal and replacement of the whole exterior envelope (enamel coated insulated steel panels, windows, bricks, etc.), providing a new facade that meets VA's Physical Security Design Manual (PSDM) requirements, and matching the new facade installed from the previous phases. All work shall be designed to include different phased construction as appropriate to maintain the uninterrupted operations of the mission critical facility Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), located at 150 Huntington Avenue, Boston (Jamaica Plain), MA. The project will use the previous design project from 2013, that was never built as a basis for design, project 523-13-106 Replace Building 1 Exterior Panels, Phase 3 by PDT Architects. The A/E firm is to take the original statement of work and create a new design with up-to-date codes and campus needs. The NAICS code is 541310 and the small business size standard is $12.5 million. Interested parties responding to this sources sought request shall submit the following information: (1) A positive statement of your intention to submit a proposal in response to a solicitation for this project and include your firm s UEI number; (2) Evidence your firm has experience with providing A/E Services for a redesign of a project that was never built and taking the previous A/E s design to use as a basis for design and updating the design with current codes. (3) Evidence your firm has experience with providing Conceptual, Design, and Construction Period (Type A, B, and C) A/E services on an active medical building for multiphase construction projects to prevent interruption of hospital operations. (4) Evidence your firm has experience with a high-rise building exterior envelope replacement with a magnitude of construction ranging from $5,000,000-$10,000,0000M in a city setting.
