Saving Project...

Renovation of a museum in Norman, Oklahoma. Working plans call for the renovation of a museum.

As of September 19, 2023, bids were canceled. No definite date for the rebid. The contractor shall make a field inspection of the project site and determine the project cost, including the extent to which all tools, lifts, scaffolding, equipment and labor methods shall be necessary to properly prep, prime and paint the exterior of the buildings (any costs associated with rental equipment shall be included in the contractor's bid). All methods of application are the same for both structures. Successful contractor shall submit for approval manufacturer's product information sheet describing each material to be used on the project to the project manager, if not called out in the plans. Materials and paint colors will not be accepted as final without approval of project manager prior to their installation at the Museum. Paint to be used in this project shall be exterior grade and of high quality in a satin finish for the siding and a semi-gloss finish for all trim and moulding. An example of the paint schematic to be followed is included in this document (for bidding purposes only). Detailed instructions and color call-outs for all architectural elements are available upon request as a digital document to all bidders and shall be provided to the successful bidder as a physical copy. In order to reduce the blistering effect of the sun, contractor will be required to "follow the sun around the house". Essentially, this will require that the east side of the house be painted in the late morning, the south side painted in middle of the afternoon, the west side painted in the late afternoon, and the north side painted at any time during the day. However, at least two hours are needed for the fresh paint to dry before evening weather conditions cool to the point where dew forms. If temperatures are to reach over 90 degrees Fahrenheit during any part of the day that primer or paint is to be applied, then painting shall not occur without prior approval from project manager. Construction will need to be coordinated with the City to minimize impact on daily users of this City facility. Preferred work dates will be dependent upon weather conditions. All proposed work dates must be coordinated with the project manager in order to minimize impact of work on the Historical Museum event schedules. All final site clean-up must be approved by the Project Manager prior to final acceptance by the City of Norman. Provide and install all labor Lump Sum 1 __________ ____________ and materials necessary to clean, repair, prep and paint all exterior surfaces of the main house and carriage house at the Moore-Lindsay Historical Museum site in Norman, OK according to the project specifications (attached) and as described in the general conditions and specific provisions, attached herein; including all required construction inspections, as needed. Provide material and all labor Linear Ft. 100 __________ ____________ necessary to replace (as needed) 100 linear feet of clapboard siding found to be rotten, missing or otherwise damaged enough to make it un-usable on both the main house and the carriage house at the Moore-Lindsay Historical Museum site in Norman, OK. New wood shall match existing material in type and thickness, as described in the specific provisions.
