Renovation of a library in Farmington, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

Davis County (the "County") is soliciting proposals from Construction Manager(s)/General Contractor(s) ("CM/GC") to replace portions of the facade on the Davis County Administration and HQ Library (the "Project") located at 61 South Main Street Farmington, Utah. The County owns and operates the Administration building and HQ Library which was constructed and finished in 2012, with a portion of the exterior facade cladding being constructed of a natural stone veneer system. Sections of the stone veneer system began the fail shortly after installation. Attempts were made to re-adhere these sections, but as years passed larger sections had similar issues. The County grouted and filled the joints and gaps between the stone in hopes to better hold the system together. Ultimately it was discovered that the majority of the stone veneer system has systemic failure and is in need of replacement. The County will contract with a Design/Architect firm through a separate process for design services on the Project. he selected CM/GC shall assist the County and the Design team in the design and construction of the Project by completing the following: 1. Design & Preconstruction Phase. This phase includes attending design meetings, estimating and cost control, equipment, material's and product selection assistants, schedule development, construction drawings and constructability reviews. The selected CM/GC shall assist the County and the Design team in maintaining the cost of construction within the FLCC and within schedule. The CM/GC shall consult and attend meetings with the County which may include county employees, representatives of the Design team, Farmington City, and others as may meet the needs of the County. The CM/GC may explore and analyze the existing facade system for points of failure to give insight for the new facade system. The CM/GC shall, after fully accounting for the FLCC, advise the County regarding construction costs and risks, including methods to reduce risk, reduce costs, and improve schedules during all phases. The selected CM/GC shall advise the County regarding project phasing and schedule, including early procurement of materials, if necessary, coordination of staging areas for construction access, stockpiling of materials, storage and other construction related activities. The project team may decide to opt for design assist with certain key subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and trades, like a mason subcontractor or facade manufacturers to provide expertise input on the design, product and material selection, life span, and maintenance requirements of different types of facade systems. The County reserves the right to select a CM/GC without utilizing the face-to-face proposal clarification process.
