King George County, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia and a body politic, herein referred to as KGC, desires to obtain proposals on behalf of King George County Schools for purchase, design, set-up and connection of existing utilities of modular classroom units totaling approx. 8,000 square feet to include 6 classrooms and 2 restrooms to be installed on existing piers in general conformance with attachments D & F as described herein. Receipt of addendum MUST be acknowledged in the submitted proposal. It is the Proposer's ultimate responsibility to ensure that they have all applicable addenda prior to bid submittal. Questions may be sent by fax or email. -Design, delivery, preparation, set up to the specifications listed below and all work relative to the installation of all modular classrooms must be complete and ready for occupancy. -The units will house 3rd through 6th grade students. -Contractor shall be responsible for all permitting from all agencies having jurisdiction. -A new 600A/208v/3phase/4wire service panel has been provided by the owner and located behind the trailers and will provide branch circuits to the existing panels located in each trailer section. -The trailers shall be properly grounded and the frames bonded together. -Raceways and conduits for the Fire Alarm System, P.A. system, etc. shall be prepiped by the CONTRACTOR. -A new Outdoor Air Unit shall be furnished by the Contractor. -A pumping station has been added on site for the sanitary sewer line from the trailer site. Work shall include connecting to modular classroom units to the existing sanitary sewer facilities. Work shall also include connecting the modular classroom units to the existing water line. -Lacking the addition of an automated fire sprinkler, the use conversion will trigger all corridor walls become 1-hour rated or smoke partitions, and each classroom > 250sf will require an operable window. -ADA Compliant bathroom to be provided for teacher and other adult guest use. -Major circulation corridors should not be less than 8' clear wall-to-wall. -Classrooms greater than 250 square feet require at least one operable outside window for emergency rescue. -Minimum classroom floor area shall be 800 square feet. -4 water closets per sex, 4 lavatories per sex, 4 drinking fountains, and 1 janitor's sink are required to accommodate the proposed program within the existing footprint. -All work shall be done in conformance with NFPA and DOE guidelines and standards.
