Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a water / sewer project in Atlanta, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the demolition of a water / sewer project.

This solicitation is open to potential bidders who currently hold prequalification status for Right of Way Property Management Services issued by GDOT and who hold a current prequalification certificate. Once on the website select "Prequalification". On the Prequalification page select "Specialty Services" and the Right of Way tab to obtain the application, information and instructions. A bid response received by any firm not currently listed on GDOTs prequalification listing will not be considered for award for this solicitation. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a PRE-QUALIFIED firm interested in providing Abatement and Demolition of Improvements, Structures or Other Encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure that its bid(s) arrive on or before the specified time. No bids will be accepted after the time set for receipt. Questions due to GDOT 08/23/2023 2:00 PM Scope of Work contemplated and covered in this bid proposal consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for the removal of Underground Storage Tanks USTs (4 - 10,000 gal. gasoline tanks), associated product piping, and venting, as well as a waste oil tank which is noted as 1000 gal and exempt in the GA EPD database, includes but is not limited to: 1. Remove and dispose of unverified quantity of existing liquids within 4 USTs (4 - 10,000 gal. gasoline tanks). At the time of the site visit, the UST tank fill ports were capped. Assume collectively 1,000 gallons of residual fuel contents remain in the tanks which will require proper removal and disposal. Remove and dispose of waste oil from above ground storage tank (AST) in Structure 1. 2. Prior to removing the USTs from the ground, wash and triple rinse USTs after proper removal of remaining liquids. Wash and triple rinse the AST located in Structure 1 prior to removal. Submit documentation provided by specialty UST wash contractor. 3. Remove the concrete slab covering the tanks and associated piping to facilitate removal of USTs. Remove additional asphalt or concrete paving to access product piping. The area of the existing covering for the tank pit is approximately 1,900 sq. ft. The paving removal for concrete and asphalt paving is included in the quantifies as noted as removal/disposal items in the demolition requirements. 4. Remove associated product piping, and venting. 5. Remove 4 USTs (4 - 10,000 gal. gasoline tanks). Backfill and compact with new, non-contaminated, acceptable soil. 6. Remove 1 AST from Structure 1. 7. Provide field sampling and lab analyses analysis for all tanks, product piping lines, and soil piles as required by regulation. 8. Conduct Water Resources Survey and prepare UST Closure Report, including Form 7530-1. Submit the UST Closure Report to the site inspector for review. 9. Submit photographic documentation to the site inspector of the tanks following their removal from the tank pit, as well as the empty tank pit. 10. Submit documentation of disposal of the tanks to the site inspector. 11. After tank and piping removal and fill is completed, the area where the paving was demolished to access tanks shall be graded as required to promote drainage and eliminate ponding. 12. Once the new grade has been prepared in the Right of Way, the Demolition Contractor shall apply temporary seeding and straw cover to stabilize the demolition area and assist in erosion control, as prescribed in the GESA Handbook, 2" - 4" of dry straw covering (Ds1, Ds2) grass seed mixtures based on the season of the year and the geographic area. 13. The escape of sediment from the site shall be prevented by the installation of erosion and sediment control measures and practices prior to land disturbing activities. The Contractor is required to follow all erosion, runoff, and sediment control practices, including erecting of silt fencing or other measures as necessary, as required by local, state, and federal regulations. All erosions control measures shall comply with 2019 Georgia Code, TITLE 12 - Conservation and Natural Resources, Chapter 7 - Control of Soil Erosion and Sedimentation
