The Project consists of constructing approximately 770 linear feet of concrete sidewalk brick landings. curb and gutters. and related appurtenances. The work is further defined as shown on the Plans and as described by the Contract Documents. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Contractor Licensing BIDDER'S attention is invited to the requirements of Section 54.1 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration which specifies the following with regard to contractor licensure and registration by definition: "Class A contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $120,000 or more, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12-month period is $750,000 or more. "Class B contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $7,500 or more, but less than $120,000, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12-month period is $150,000 or more, but less than $750,000. The bidder shall show evidence of being a VDOT prequalified contractor. Evidence of being a VDOT prequalified contractor shall be included with the submitted bid. This project is federally funded and has disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) requirements. There will be a 4% disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) goal assigned to this project. The bidder shall show evidence of meeting the disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) requirements. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Submit all prebid questions to the Architect/Engineer. All responses to questions will be made by Addendum.
