Replace the existing water meter in the underground vault at Dean and Buffalo Grass Drive . The current meter is 12" in diameter, 19" in length. The new meter is a 10" OMNI Turbo (T2) supplied by the City, 42" in length. A new 12" gate valve is to be installed downstream of the existing vault. This will have to be done prior to any other work to ensure water service during the rest of construction. Remove the existing piping in the vault and replace as per the new configuration. All existing valves, pipe, couplings, supports are to be reused where possible. The existing check valve is to be relocated to a new concrete manhole downstream of the existing vault. The existing bypass will be removed. A new 12" bypass with one 12" gate valve is to be installed outside of the existing vault. The existing valve on the bypass can be installed on the new bypass. The bypass can be either ductile iron or C900 PVC. All hardware must be stainless steel. The existing line is approximately 4.5' feet below ground level and 9' behind the back of the curb. All existing pipe, the meter and materials not able to be used in the new configuration are to be returned to the City. The specific locations of the work to be done shall be contained in the special provisions section of the bid document. The contractor shall bid on all work. All equipment, material and workmanship must be in accordance with the Specifications and other Contract Documents. Contractor shall provide a ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for all employees who will be on-site at the Project. T All wages paid for work under this contract shall comply with the requirements of the prevailing wage law of the State of Missouri, Missouri Public Law 294, Sec. 290.210 through 290.340, R.S. MO. 1969, as amended. Pursuant to 610.021 RSMo, Item 12, all documents within a request for proposal (RFP) will become an open record to the public upon a negotiated contract being executed. All documents within a request for bid (RFB) become open record as soon as the bid is opened. Bidders and proposers should be aware that all documents within a submittal will become open records. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities or deficiencies therein.
