55 Park Place - Replace Existing Chillers and Cooling Towers at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia. GSU reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications or proposals, and to waive technicalities and informalities at the discretion of GSU. The scope of work for this project will include replacement of two 550-ton chillers along with the associated cooling towers and circulating pumps. The existing 24/7 tenant cooling tower will be demolished and the new cooling tower will be sized to handle the tenant cooling tower load. Two make-up air units serving outside air to the building will be replaced with one energy recovery unit (ERU) to be located on the penthouse roof. The exhaust air, outside air, and chilled water systems shall be modified as necessary to serve the new ERU. New service access shall be included to provide access to the mechanical penthouse roof. The existing motor control center located in the penthouse will need to be modified to support the new equipment. New outside air VAVs will be installed in the mechanical rooms on each floor and outside air to each floor will be controlled by CO2 monitoring. Structural modifications to the building will also be necessary for this project. Execution of the work will need to scheduled off-season so as not to interrupt the comfort of the building occupants.
