Renovation of a water / sewer project in Metomen, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Town of Shelby, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will receive and accept bids for the construction. Project includes the addition of a jockey pump and process piping changes at the Well #1 Booster Pumping Station. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis. Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and per the Contract Documents prepared by CBS Squared Inc. identified as "Arbor Hills Well No. 1 Reservoir Modifications". To access the electronic bid form, download the project document and click the online bidding button at the top of the advertisement. All prospective bidders must be on the plan holders list through if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Town of Shelby reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 Days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Bidders Proof of Responsibility must be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. This Contract is expected to be funded in part with funds provided by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Safe Drinking Water Loan Program (SDWLP). Information on applicable federal requirements is contained in the Project Manual. Use of American Iron & Steel: Projects financed in whole or in part by the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program are required to use American iron and steel. Bid proposals may be denied if the requirements of this Section are not met. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and sub -contractors performing on contracts funded in whole or in part with federal funds in excess of $2,000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, as determined by the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. If the requirements of Davis Bacon, the State of Wisconsin and the Contract requirements conflict with regard to wages, the highest of the three shall apply. The Owner encourages DBEs, MBEs, WBEs, and SBRAs to submit Bid proposals. Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action requirements apply to this Project. The Town of Shelby reserves the right to reject any and all bids, without cause, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and toaward the Contract in the best interest of the Town of Shelby. Bidder shall conduct any Site visit during normal working hours and shall not disturb any ongoing operations at the Site.
