The City of Bristol, Tennessee is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to complete requirements detailed in the scope of work to complete landfill closure of a class II landfill. All written questions related to this bid should be emailed to purchasing@bristoltn.org no later than 3 p.m. on September 6, 2023. No phone call questions will be accepted. Answers to questions will be posted on the city website as an addendum to this bid no later than 5pm on September 11, 2023 1. The contractor will be responsible for trucking, placing and compacting approximately 16,000 cubic yards of clay to a maximum hydraulic conductivity of 1x10-5 cm/s. 2. Field testing of the depth of the clay and the compaction level will be conducted by an independent engineering firm at the expense of the City and not the contractor. 3. The contractor will be responsible for trucking, placing and compacting approximately 10,600 cubic yards of topsoil. 4. Field testing of the depth of the top-soil will be conducted by an independent engineering firm at the expense of the City and not the contractor. 5. Contractor will be responsible for hydroseeding the site as soon as practicable after final grading to ensure a protective vegetative cover. 6. Contractor must complete the project within 90 days of a notice to proceed. 7. Contractor shall assume a trucking distance of .25 miles for clay and .75 miles trucking distance for top-soil.
