The City of Lancaster is seeking competitive bids to provide labor and materials for a window replacement project at the Lancaster Bureau of Police Station located at 39 W. Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA. The work is generally described as complete removal of the existing clad wood windows and installation of new vinyl-wood composite windows and aluminum-clad wood windows. This Project and Contract are subject to certain special requirements. For example, as more specifically detailed in the Contract Documents, the successful bidder shall be required to assure protection against discrimination for employees, applicants for employment, and subcontractors on the grounds of actual or perceived race, color, sex, religion, ancestry, genetic information, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, marital status, age, mental or physical disability, use of guide or support animals and/or mechanical aids, and to make payment of certain minimum salaries and wages. The City will determine who is the lowest responsible bidder upon the basis of the bids submitted. The lowest responsible bidder need not be the bidder submitting the lowest dollar amount. The City may consider the quality of services supplied, responsiveness of the bidder, past performance of the bidder, compatibility of the bidders processes with other City services and the bidders ability to handle the volume of work proposed. Further, consideration will be given to such matters as contractor integrity, compliance with public policy, record of past performance, and financial and technical resources.
