Reference Number: AB-2023-05418 The project is located at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC), 3500 - 26 Avenue Northeast, Calgary, Alberta, T1Y 6J4. The PLC is a fully operational hospital with 24/7 acute care and emergency programs in northeast Calgary. The main "H" shape building was originally built around 1986 and has gone through numerous additions and renovations since then. The two main additions are the West (built around 1997) and East (built around 2010) Towers; both the East and West buildings are connected with the main building. 2 The scope of the EDMHL project includes design and renovation including fit-out of: .1 Emergency Department (ED) Phase 1 & 2 .2 Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSS) .3 Rapid Response Laboratory (RRL) .4 Minor Surgery Women's Health Bronchoscopy (MSWHB) .5 Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (Psych-ICU) However, this RFP is specific to ED Phase 2 which is located on level 1 (ground floor) of the main hospital building (refer to Appendix C). . 3 The Project is being delivered through the Construction Management (CM) method. .4 The ED Phase 2 will undergo abatement and demolition once AHS has fully operationalized ED Phase 1 at the end of August 2023. The decanted ED Phase 2 space will be available for hazardous material assessment in September 2023 followed by abatement, demolition and construction activities. . 5 The estimated area in the decanted ED space is 2,590 squared metres. There are three structural column tie-in points in the old rapid response laboratory that will need to be abated as part of the scope of work (refer to Appendix C). It is anticipated that there will be spot abatements when installed drainage below the decanted ED space. It is assumed that all of the fire spray considered to be asbestos containing material as the same materials were discovered elsewhere in the main "H" building The project schedule calls for commencement of Contract by October 05, 2023 and completion of Services by March 31, 2025. Below are the preliminary ED Phase 2 project milestones, which may be subject to change. Construction Tendering Period August 16, 2023: 1.5 months Abatement, Demolition and Construction October 13, 2023: 24 months Commissioning July 2025: 3 months The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
