Renovation of an educational facility in Montreal, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Reference number : 1757774 Deadline for receipt of complaints: 2023-09-25 Replacement of 2 Chillers in Paul-Gérin-Lajoie Pavilion, located at 1205 rue Saint-Denis in Montréal. The chilled water system currently consists of two R-22 chillers, installed in 1992. The replacement of chillers and cooling coils is an opportunity to convert the cooled water system to a glycol system. The contract includes the replacement (dismantling and disposal of old equipment, supply of new equipment, handling, installation and commissioning) of: - Two chillers of approximately 210 tonnes each on the roof, operating on R-513a; - All cooled water piping, from lean-to to unit N-01 (lean-to), and N-02 (basement 1); - All cooling coils of units N-01 and N-02; - All chilled water pumps; - All cooling system accessories, including the new 40% ethylene glycol; - Cooling system controls; - Power supply to pumps and chillers; - MCC-1 engine control center (replacement with an electrical panel and separate starters); - The structure under the chillers; - The levelling of the sealing under the coolers. Given the delivery times for the chillers, the work will have to take place during the winter of 2024-2025 to avoid a loss of air conditioning service. The contractor must consider winter conditions in the planning of its execution as well as in the external conditions of the site that will prevail during the realization. The Contract also includes the recovery of certain existing equipment and its reinstallation. The Contractor must consider that the users and occupants of the building will continue their activities during the work. The Contractor must act in such a way as to minimize inconvenience to users and staff. Similarly, the outdoor courtyard, parking, access, etc., will also continue to be used throughout the duration of the work. The Contractor must ensure that users have access to the premises and facilities in a safe, healthy and seamless environment. The work to drill and level the walls to access the piping on the various floors, as well as the gypsum ceiling in basement 1, will be carried out by UQAM, with the exception of the walls of the air plant, before and after the period of the Contractor's work. The work inside the walls and the protection of the work area outside the walls are the responsibility of the Contractor. See the Complementary General Conditions, section 30, for details of the work carried out by UQAM. Excluding the work explained in the preceding paragraph, all development work, all demolition, protection, levelling and other work necessary for the complete completion of the Work and all related work such as: development and cleaning of the site, temporary protection work, repairs and modifications of existing interior works. All jointing, repair, drilling work required for the work hereof is included. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
