The Harbor is protected by three rubble mound structures: Detached Breakwater, North Jetty, and South Jetty. -Dredging and placement of material from the Federal navigation channels and sand traps in Marina del Rey Harbor, specifically the entrance and sand traps. -Minimum equipment required include a clamshell or excavator operation, scow(s), tug(s) and support vessels. -Placement will occur at the downcoast Dockweiler State Beach Nearshore Placement site (no deeper than - 28' MLLW), located approximately 2 miles south of the harbor entrance. - Available dredge quantity is approximately 500K+ cubic yards. - Work is allowed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. -Most of the entrance channel is protected by the detached breakwater. -The Sand Traps are partially exposed to the open ocean environment. -All vessels and equipment must be certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. -Dredging will occur in depths as deep -30 feet MLLW.
