Renovation of an educational facility in Potsdam, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Steam & Chilled Water Piping Academic Quad project at the State University College at Potsdam. Steam, condensate, and chilled water piping, installed in an underground service tunnel, serves mechanical equipment located in several academic buildings. These utilities are original and are in poor condition. Significant leaks have occurred in the chilled water piping and the pipe supports, for all piping, are corroded and failing. Additionally, the pipe insulation contains asbestos-containing materials that have deteriorated and caused contamination of the tunnel. The Project includes the replacement of steam, condensate and chilled water piping running in the existing utility tunnels. In addition, the project will replace pipe supports and valves associated with the utilities. Abatement of the pipe insulation and tunnel is required. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
