The work of this contract generally consists of full depth reclamation (FDR) of the existing pavement and base layers pavement milling and resurfacing for 3.695 miles of South Hammock Road in Hardee County, Florida. The Contractor shall perform FDR for the entire 3.695-mile roadway to an average depth of 6 inches. The subject project also includes bid alternates for milling and resurfacing options for South Hammock Road to various depths along the 3.695-mile segment of South Hammock Road, in lieu of FDR. When milling is performed, the millings shall be transported by the Contractor to the Hardee County Landfill at 685 Airport Road, Wauchula, Florida. The project base bid includes approximately 38,280 square yards of FDR, 4,360 Tons of asphalt (roadway + driveways) and placing 12,530 square yards of sod along the edge of pavement, and associated drainage, pavement marking, and signing upgrades. The roadway/project shall be left in a neat and clean condition. All workmanship and materials shall be in conformance with the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (2023-24) (excepting Division I) and the FY 2023-24 Standard Plans.
