Site work, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Longueuil, Quebec. Design plans call for the addition of a 290,000-square-foot, two-story above grade, one-story below grade medical facility; for the renovation of a 10,000-square-foot medical facility; for site work for a medical facility; medical facility; and medical facility.

Expansion of Pierre-Boucher Hospital located at 1333 Jacques-Cartier Boulevard in Longueuil (Quebec) J4M 2A5. The project consists of the construction of a new pavilion to accommodate the emergency department, a short hospitalization unit as well as multipurpose spaces. This work will make it possible to meet the ever-increasing demand of the population of the region and to solve the functional problem and the lack of capacity of the building. The project also includes the reorganization and improvement of the mental health care department, installation of psychiatric outpatient clinics, psychiatric brief intervention beds and mental health beds. In addition, the short hospitalization unit will be set up in the new premises. The pediatrics and perinatal sectors are also part of the project. Following the project realization the number of hospital beds will be increased from 363 to 415. The new emergency department will have new 40 emergency stretchers. The project will also include upgrades and alterations to the existing emergency areas. TIMELINE: The awarded consortium of architectural and mechanical/electrical, and civil/structural engineering professional consultants started preliminary design of the project. Working drawings are expected to begin in late 2024/early 2025. According to the onwer's preliminary scheduling construction start is slated for mid-2026. Note. Members of the Quebec Parliament launched on May 9, 2024 a petition to the National Assembly urging the Quebec government to approve the second phase of the Pierre-Boucher Hospital expansion and modernization project.
