Reference Number 0000329204 The Town of Amherst is looking for a vendor to supply and plant shrubs of various kinds for town wide use. All shrubs are to be handled and transported in a manner conducive to good nursery practices (American Nursery Standards). All plants shall be in containers or balled and burlapped as specified and true to name. No substitutions in species/cultivar will be allowed unless specified in writing by the Town and/or agent or inspector. Each shrub shall be well planted, existing earth removed and refilled with soil acceptable to the Town and/or agent or inspector, and well tamped. The fertilizer shall be "time release" only and will be placed in the hole and covered by 4 to 6 inches of soil before the plant is placed in position. Quantities will vary. The Town of Amherst plants the majority of their shrubs in the fall, with a smaller number of shrubs may be planted throughout the year. Quantities are not guaranteed. All rejected plants shall be the responsibility of the vendor. The Town of Amherst will not assume any responsibility for such rejected plant material.
