Reference Number 0000329117 Bulk supply of potassium acetate based de-icing/anti-icing fluid in the form of a concentrated liquid set forth in the latest edition FAA approved specification SAE AMS 1435 (The Fluid). Requirements are, but not limited to the following:
The Fluid shall be a minimum 50% potassium acetate by weight with a freeze point lower than +6o F (-14.5oC) when diluted 50/50 by weight;
The Fluid shall not contain urea, ethylene or propylene glycol;
The Fluid density shall be 10.68 pounds/U.S. gallon (1.28kg/l) at 68F (20C); the pH shall be in the range 7.0 to 11.5; and
For long-term storage reasons, The Fluid shall be stable and shall not separate in storage. The Greater Rockford Airport Authority used 61,500 gallons of product during the winter of 2022-23, and the same amount during the winter of 2021/22. 105,653 gallons were used during the winter of 2020/2120, 101,367 gallons were used during the winter of 2019/20. This is not to be construed as any type of commitment on the Authority’s behalf and shall have the flexibility of ordering more or less of the quantities stated above.
