The University has determined that bidders who submit a bid on this project must be prequalified, and conducted a prequalification process that resulted in the following firm(s) being prequalified to participate in the forthcoming Best Value competitive bidding/selection process: Kone, Inc. (Glendale, CA) Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to construct a elevator modernization within the UCSB Biological Sciences Building 571, a Type II concrete building constructed in 1969. The work includes modernization of the basement and penthouse traction elevator. The freight elevator extends from the first floor to the seventh floor penthouse. Contractor shall provide replacement of all equipment and controls located in the basement, provide replacement of freight elevator shell with new mechanical operating doors. Provide modernization of passenger traction Elevator #2 extending from basement to the sixth floor and Elevator #1 from the first floor to the sixth floor. Contractor shall replace all interiors, as specified in the Construction Documents. Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid.
