Site work and renovation of a transportation facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
The Passerelle is a three span, pre-cast concrete girder pedestrian overpass which was designed to carry pedestrian traffic over Central Boulevard and the Metrotown bus loop to the south side of the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping mall complex in the City. The Passerelle connected the Metrotown Skytrain station and Metropolis Mall. The overpass is currently closed for public access and has been disconnected from the Metrotown Skytrain station. The presence of this retired overpass has caused confusion to transit users and has potentially been misused by people undesirably. The City plans to demolish the entire Passerelle and the adjacent staircase structure.
