The purpose of the project is to develop a Wildland Urban Interface Wildfire Risk Reduction Plan (WUI WRR Plan; formerly "WRR Tactical Plan") in the vicinity of Campbell River on Vancouver Island. The resulting WUI WRR Plan will be used by the Ministry of Forests and partnering Land Managers to inform a prioritized action plan for conducting wildfire risk reduction activities in the Area of Interest (AOI). The contract includes analysis and surveying of wildfire risk and vegetation within the AOI, and the development of planning and fuel management units to prioritize opportunities for wildfire risk reduction based on the analysis results. The contract does not include prescription development or operational treatment, as these activities will be administered under separate contracts following development of the WUI WRR Plan. The AOI for this contract covers the area from the Village of Sayward south to Courtney/Comox and west to Cumberland, as well as Quadra Island and Mount Washington. The AOI is defined in the 'Area of Interest' (AOI) map and associated KMZ file attached with the Tender documents. Only Crown Land within the AOI boundary will be considered (about 43,024Ha) and assessed as part of the contract, as these are the lands eligible under the Crown Land Wildfire Risk Reduction (CLWRR) funding stream of the Community Resiliency Investment (CRI) program. Estimated Contract Duration (in months): 11 Question Deadline 09/19/2023 at 1:00 PM PT The term of the contract will be from the signature date of final contract execution to September 1, 2024. A financial contract performance security in the amount of 10% of the total contract value will be required from the successful bidder and held under the terms of the Contract. In addition, a 10% holdback on invoices will be held under the terms of the contract. A bid security is NOT required. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
