Sealed bids are requested by the San Antonio Water System for the rehabilitation of three AWWA D110 prestressed concrete ground storage tanks located in Bexar County as included in the Contract Documents for the 2023 Concrete Ground Storage Tank Painting and Rehabilitation Project, SAWS Job No. 21-0116. Electronic bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid price. (Or, if providing SAWS with a cashier's check or certified check in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid price, SAWS will request this within 24 hours from the apparent low bidder. Please be advised that Bidders are prohibited from communicating with any other SAWS staff, the Consultant, the Developer, or City of San Antonio officials regarding this IFB up until the contract is awarded as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. A. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required and construct Job No. 21- 0115 in its entirety as shown on the Plans and as specified herein. B. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following for three (3) existing prestressed concrete ground storage tanks (GST) - Oliver Ranch GST (3.0 MG), Winwood GST (2.0 MG), and Somerset GST (1.5 MG): 1. Surface preparation, recoating, and rehabilitation of the three (3) existing GSTs, including removing and replacing tank appurtenances, new handrail, tank ladder improvements, roof vent replacement, roof hatch replacement, pilaster surface repairs, demolition, and other miscellaneous work. 2. Minor relocation of electrical and other equipment. 3. All miscellaneous improvements for a complete in-place facility. C. The Work of this Contract will be executed in a unit price and lump sum Contract as shown in the Proposal. D. The Work of this Contract is not necessarily limited to the above descriptions. Accordingly, the CONTRACTOR shall thoroughly familiarize himself with all the Contract Documents in order to fully understand the extent of his Work and be aware of any "cross references". The CONTRACTOR shall fully understand, and shall fulfill, his duties and responsibilities regarding coordination and cooperation with the OWNER and other contractors working at the Site. E. Testing Equipment: The Contractor will be required at the beginning of the project to provide the following equipment to the Owner: 1. Low voltage holiday detector as manufactured by Tinker & Rasor (Model M/1). 2. Electronic mil gage as manufactured by DeFelsko (Model PosiTector 6000 - FS2, with PosiSoft Windows-based software, USB cable for data and steel zero plate for calibration). 3. Ultrasonic thickness gage as manufactured by DeFelsko (Model UTG-ME with Certified Step Blocks). 4. Dew point meter as manufactured by DeFelsko (Model PosiTector DPM). 5. Advanced Inspection Kit as manufactured by KTA. Kit shall be inclusive of Items 2-4 above LOCATION OF WORK A. The existing Oliver Ranch prestressed concrete ground storage tank is located in the City of San Antonio. The physical address of the pump station is 26293 US Highway 281 N, San Antonio, Texas 78258. B. The existing Winwood prestressed concrete ground storage tank is located in the City of Boerne. The physical address of the pump station is 28555 IH-10 West, Boerne, Texas 78006. C. The existing Somerset prestressed concrete ground storage tank is located in the Bexar County in the City of Von Ormy. The physical address of the pump station is 19260 Somerset Road, Von Ormy, Texas 78069.
