Sport Court Repair & Coloring - Westhoff Park City of O'Fallon, Missouri the City of O'Fallon, Missouri is Accepting Sealed Bids for a Sport Court Repair & Coloring Project. The City of O'Fallon Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids and Waive Any Irregularities. The City of O'fallon Also Reserves the Right to Select the Lowest and/or Best Bidder as Determined by the City in Its Sole Discretion QUESTIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING VIA E-MAIL BY 12:00 P.M. on 9/13/2023 TO THE PURCHASING AGENT. QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED BY END OF DAY ON 9/14/2023 PURCHASING AGENT: CHRISTINE GRABIN PHONE: E-MAIL: 636.379.5527 cgrabin@ofallon.mo.us Base Bid o Existing Courts, previously colored (basketball, roller hockey and two pickle ball courts) is approximately 13,725 sq. ft. o Two additional new pickleball courts - (new concrete) is approximately 5,400 sq. ft. o Base of all courts is concrete. o All colors to remain similar to existing on the basketball and roller hockey courts. The four pickleball courts will have white lines and three different colors. Colors TBD. o Hockey Goals and pickleball nets will be removed and reinstalled by City staff. o Repair all cracks as listed under crack repair. o Repair all divots in surface. o Basketball Court repair approximately 720 LF of cracks. o Roller Hockey repair approximately 630 LF of cracks. o Existing Pickleball Court approximately 975 LF of cracks. o New pickle ball courts are approximately 960LF of saw cuts. o Estimated Low areas at 250 sq. ft. for all courts combined. o Follow all product limitations and instructions. o All measurements in this bid are estimates and the vendor must field verify to provide an accurate bid. o Gameco or SportMaster products are preferred. Other comparable applications acceptable if approved equal. Crack Repair o The method for crack repair will be to fill the crack full depth with an acrylic filler. o Step 1: Fill the crack full depth with an acrylic filler - Portland cement, court patch binder, and silica sand mixture. This may take multiple passes. o Step 2: Grind the crack smooth with a walk behind grinder. o Step 3: Scrape and grind any ridges or imperfections. o Step 4: Scrape and grind any ridges or imperfections o any ridges or imperfections. o Step 5: Hide out the repair with multiple coats of acrylic resurfacer. The repair should not be visible after the court is coated. o Limitations: o Do not install when moisture is evident in cracks or when cracks emit moisture. o Do not install when rain is forecasted or the day after it has rained. o Do not install on damp or cold surfaces (Minimum Surface temperature of 70F). o Do not install on dirty surfaces. o Do not install using Asphalt Emulsion or over existing Asphalt Emulsion. o Preparation: o The existing court surface shall be thoroughly cleaned with high power blowers and scrapers. Power washing is required in areas of high concentration of dirt and debris. All existing crack repairs shall be cleaned prior to installing the crack repair system. Preparation & Application of Court Coloring o Layout of the court lines to be the same. o Gameco Acrylics is the preferred product or approved equal. o This specification consists of the installation of a new colored wearing surface over the existing surface, have sufficient slope to ensure proper drainage and must meet or exceed the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) applicable guidelines. Additional leveling courses of asphalt may be required to correct the tolerance. o Prior to application of coatings the surface shall be flooded with water and allowed to drain. When the surface has dried, mark all areas holding water in excess of 1/8" in depth. NOTE: Areas less than 1/8" in depth, shall be patched with GAMECO AC PATCHING COMPOUND or comparable (refer to G-600 for missing and application instructions). o Prior to application of color coats, remove loose materials, high areas by sanding, grinding, etc. Fill all cracks, dings, and other irregularities by using either GAMECO AC PATCHING COMPOUND or GAMECO SUPER-FLEX CRACK FILLER or comparable. Application can be made using a cement trowel or putty knife. Surface to be coated must be clean and dry. When patching has thoroughly dried, patches may be scraped smooth or sanded flush with surface. o Once patching is complete, one application of GAMECO, Acrylic Resurfacer on the existing courts approximately 13,725 sq. ft. and two applications on the new pickleball courts at approximately 5,400 sq. ft. or Super-Surfacer, as specified, shall be applied to the surface or comparable. Refer to the individual technical data sheets for mixture and application details. o Textured color coat (Two coats) o Coverage- Texture coat coverage is approximately .04-/05 gal/yd2 (180-225 ft2/gal) per application of undiluted material. Finish coat coverage is approximately .03-.04 gal/yd2 (225-300 ft2/gal) per application of undiluted material. Coverage may vary depending on porosity of surface, texture, and Silica sand size used. o Application - Gameco multi-purpose acrylic color coat or comparable. o Mix filler coat formulation above and apply two coats by squeegee. Allow each coating to thoroughly dry before proceeding to the next. Remove all ridges and other irregularities by scraping the surface with cement scrapers and high-powered air blowing. o Playing lines - Mix Gameco Acrylic line paint or comparable thoroughly and apply by hand brush and roller method. Do not dilute product, apply as is. o Court Coloring is to match as close to the original color as possible for basketball and roller hockey. Final color choice will be decided at on site pre-construction meeting.
